Culture and sport

Guests at Hodonín Spa can enjoy a range of cultural events or programmes. Because people from all over the country visit Hodonín Spa, we try to introduce the beauties and folk traditions of Moravské Slovacko to all with regular tradition folk music sessions and folk dance performances.

Brass band concerts, folk groups and classical music concerts also take place right in Hodonín Spa or the adjoining amphitheatre in the spa park. Trips to surrounding castles, folk festivals, festivals, wine cellars or wine festivals and many other interesting events take place at weekends. From April to October, Sunday boat trips along the river Morava are organised for guests.

The spa cultural cocktail in May begins the spa season. Some of the other major events include October's Spa wine harvest and the December Spa advent.

Spa guests are also informed about all cultural events, concerts, programmes and exhibitions which take place outside the spa buildings. Every year in August, a traditional folk festival takes place in Hodonín - the Svatovavřinecké (St Laurent) festival, in September a wine celebration with folk programme (more information at www.dkhodonin.wz.cz) Near the spa can be found a pleasant and relaxing hot house with tropical plants from all over the world and a small pool with goldfish. The house is open every day until 6.00pm. During the summer you can cool off in the summer swimming pool. Spa guests can visit a covered swimming pool or take in a hockey match at the ice rink. Those interested in sporting activities can take advantage of the bicycle and Nordic walking pole rental and the outside playing grounds in the Spa grounds (e.g.: Ludo, Croquet, Petanque, Squash, Draughts, Chess). A well equipped library is available on the 7th floor of the Vladimír spa building. Internet and WiFi connection available in the Eva spa building. During winter months, the Congress Hall is used for screening films, our 'Spa Cinema'.
